Crystal L. Paul is a journalist and editor, based in south side Chicago. She has reported on a wide range of topics, including arts & culture, education, communities, and race & equity. She has a degree in behavioral neuroscience from Yale University and previously served as the founding communities reporter and later features editor for The Seattle Times. In “former lives” she has worked as an editor at a book publishing house, a bookseller, and and even once as an organic farmer. She is now the State Investigations Editor with Illinois Answers Project.

When she’s not writing, she is reading from an infinite TBR pile.
